"More than meets the eye"

A review of The Volunteer Arms by Tony McKay written on Wednesday 25th of March 2009

Almost walked past this little gem, from the outside looked like it could have been a bit rough and tumble (if you know what I mean). Decided to give it a go and I have to say, once inside it was completely different to how I imagined. The landlord was friendly and welcoming, they had aselection of well kept hand pulled real ales (which, to be honest, isn't a great surprise in York) and it was nice and quite. Perfect fro a relaxing afternoon/late evening pint. Highly recommended..
