A review of The Angler Inn by George Moore - York - Thursday 1st of May 2008
Been calling to the Angler over the years and seen a few comings and goings. Called on the off chance today to find a whole new change. New owners, new menu, new beers and a pleasant friendly welcome! Chose a nice day though, with the sun shining and took advantage by sitting outside with a cool glass of Timothy Taylor Landlord! Perfect combination for those of you who like real ale.
Licensee is an amiable guy called Graham. Ex forces and running a good developing set up with his sons. Bar staff and chefs combined!
Walkers will be pleased to note that a listed route has been licensed by the council with a placard map at the front of the pub showing the available routes and points of interest. Perfect, if you are like me, who wants to take in the local scenery, wildlife, pleasant surroundings and finish off with a drink and something to eat!
Will be back regular. Worth a visit!
