"Gift box"

The York Teddy bear shop is well worth a visit as their range of teddy bears is wonderful.
My criticism is that after buying a Steif bear I then had to purchase the box to go with it as an extra. I ask the question, how do we know that the bears are in mint condition if they are not sold in a box?
